Где автор рассуждает о "портетниках". Правда, на английском, но, думаю, это не должно сотавить большой проблемы?.. *

Вот сопроводительный текст для лучшего прочтения:

The Right Lens
The longer the focal length, the better the proportions of a face appear. A lens with a focal length the same as the diagonal of the film format - around 50mm on a 35mm camera or 80mm on 6 x6cm format - used close enough for the model's face to fill the picture causes too much distortion, making the nose and chin seem too large. Very long focal lengths, such as 300mm on a 35mm camera, give very good proportions, but are usually inconvenient because they have to be used from a distance and need to be set at a small aperture to give sufficient depth of field. The compromise generally accepted to be the most satisfactory is 105mm on a 35mm camera and 150mm on 6x6cm. Details are, in effect, close-up shots, and invariably need supplementary lenses or better, extensions (see pages 196-203). So as not to interfere with the lighting, use a long focal length for such details - a 200mm lens for 35mm cameras or 250mm for 6 x6cm are good.
